Il m’a toujours semblé -et je ne cherche point à en donner la preuve- qu’un portrait pouvait répondre, d’une manière essentielle sinon évidente, au sentiment éveillé par une oeuvre -si l’on veut bien entendre ce mot dans sa plus large acception et se défaire de tout présupposé hiérarchique. Ce qui peut encore m’émouvoir, bien au delà du monde clos, parfait, de tout ce qui un jour a pu être signé, c’est la rencontre offerte d’un regard sur le monde. Ici, de toute évidence, c’est le miroir du lecteur, du spectateur, de l’ami quelquefois, qui regarde à son tour, dans la fissure toujours visible entre deux réalités.
