Non sappiamo dove è nato né dove è vissuto, non sappiamo nulla di lui, se non che si chiamava Tito Caro Lucrezio, che visse nel primo secolo avanti Cristo, che fu stimato da qualche contemporaneo e considerato folle da altri. Milo De Angelis introduce così il suo Sotto la scure silenziosa (Satyros Editore, 2002), libro in cui sono raccolti trentasei frammenti da lui tradotti dal De Rerum Natura di Lucrezio. L’antologia, isola quattro temi: la natura, l’angoscia, l’amore, la malattia.
