Quello che possiamo fare



Per esempio, far sì che intelligenza e destino si abbraccino,

e non si separino.

O accorgersi del fatto che respiriamo e adoperarlo,

perché può far capaci di agire come principianti.

E così smetterla di rimestare nel torbido

di idee troppo inutilmente complicate.

Nei rapporti con gli altri o se si hanno responsabilità

aspettarsi il meno possibile.

E nell’alternarsi di fortuna e sfortuna,

allenarsi a guardarle passare tutte e due.

E così, nel cercare di orientarsi fra le cose del mondo,

usare la quiete come senso d’orientamento.

Se ti riesce di combinare qualcosa coltivalo,

senza credere però di farlo tuo.

E appena ti fabbrichi un pensiero,

non credere mai troppo a quello che ti passa per la testa.

È questo il metodo migliore di adoperare la vita.
