The remainder series

Recent releases in the remainder series include works by Jim Andrews, Lyn Coffin, Drew Kunz, Jim Leftwich, Bill Shively, Margareta Waterman, Ross Priddle, Michael McCafferty, Marton Koppany, Donato Mancini, Tom Clark, Leane J., Hung Tu, Randy Stark, David-Baptiste Chirot, and others.

The remainder series is a project being completed in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul’s, Goodwill’s, and Salvation Army’s thrift-store aesthetics. The basic idea is to use our paper stock for small editions of poetry and art. The paper for our first remainder series is in various weights and colors though all of it is letter size (8.5” x 11”, 216mm x 279mm). Printed work is issued in numbered editions of 25 or less, 40% of which goes to the poet or artist. While they last, these ordinary prints will be available for $6 a copy, which doesn’t include postage and handling, or $7, which does, payable to

Seattle’s Wessel & Lieberman Books (www.wlbooks.com) has a standing order for three copies of all work produced in the remainder series. Those of you who live in Seattle can stop by the bookstore in Pioneer Square to see the actual prints, which are nicely different in some ways from the pdf versions. Interesting are the differences between print and electronic reproductions, and a working title for the remainder series could have been, to paraphrase an important Walter Benjamin title: The Work of Reproduction in an Age of Technological Art.

International Poetry Biennial. Paris, May 2009

For its tenth edition (May 2009), the International Poetry Biennial is pleased to announce an International Media Poetry Contest.

Works considered “media poetry” are those that place contemporary technologies at the service of poetry, be it within the framework of a performance or in that of a recorded and projectable work. Among the many forms accepted are included videopoetry, digital poetry, multimedia poetry, sound poetry, interactive poetry, and poetic installations in physical space or on the Internet. Works that illustrate a poem will not be considered (these are works that use sound or images to represent or complement a poem, for example). There are no restrictions regarding the form or content of the media poems submitted.

§

Vive a Parigi.

W12: THE ALL MUSIC ISSUE

The newest issue of The Kootenay School of Writing’s W MagazineW12 “All Music”–is available on the KSW website: www.kswnet.org.

Please note that if you would like to download this issue, you will have two options.

The ideal form of the issue–which contains the audio files embedded in an Adobe .pdf file (as opposed to leaving them out to dry as a supplement)–is really huge [466.6 Mb!] and may take several hours to download depending on your connection. (Yes, we did try to compress the file to make it smaller but were confounded by software limitations).

So, as an alternative, we’ve included W12 as two separate files: a .pdf and an .mp3 file.

We will also mail out a CD-rom of the full issue and/or a CD of the audio files that you can play on a conventional CD player to KSW general mailing list members if you send a SASE (with appropriate postage for sending a CD to your area) to: Continua a leggere

Warburghiana

WARBURGHIANA.it

interventi
Aurelio Andrighetto, Joseph Rykwert, Marco Belpoliti, Stefano Boeri, Jimmie Durham, Stefano Brizzi, Giulio Calegari,
Gianluca Codeghini, Andrea Inglese, Andrea Panattoni, Paolo Rosa, Alessandra Spranzi, Dario Bellini, Elio Grazioli

WARBURGHIANA.it

First a book, then exhibitions, then synoptic concerts, now even a desktop!
The new Warburghiana website is much more than an informative site about the group activities: it’s a
laboratory, a format, a form and a work in progress.

Starting from October 30th it is back online, completely renewed.

Visions, performances, videos, very short conferences, sound objects, texts which follow one another
intensely and precisely.
We want to promote an art of attention and piercing vision, displaying materials and ideas on tables.
Not only and not so much a way of exhibiting as a way of thinking about art and offering it, a way of
keeping together and close by things and materials and handing them over to other people so they
can make (good) use of them.
