6 tracks — 75 minutes.
these tracks evolved in an exploration of SuperCollider and its apparently limitless possibilities, as filtered through my own modest ability to exploit them. Basic motifs where laid down using stochastic processes and granular synthesis in mincing through a variety of field recordings, whose subject matter was seen as arbitrary and thus an unimportant consideration. At a later stage, various tracks consisting of found materials were layered on to hint at some dramatic or emotional impulse, lest the results languor in an arid academic state. I don’t know whether or not that was entirely successful. A wise man once said: a work of art is never finished, it is merely abandoned. requiescat.

Circus Days and Nights, a new opera by legendary composer Philip Glass, librettists David Henry Hwang and circus director Tilde Björfors, is based on a collecion af poems by American poet Robert Lax. Co-produced by Cirkus Cirkör and Malmö Opera, the collaboration will feature a unique, never before seen fusion of circus and opera.

Presented by Laurie Anderson, one of America’s most renowned – and daring – creative pioneers. Known primarily for her multimedia presentations, she has cast herself in roles as varied as visual artist, composer, poet, photographer, filmmaker, electronics whiz, vocalist, and instrumentalist.
Introduced by Suzannah Clark, Director of the Mahindra Humanities Center and Morton B. Knafel Professor of Music at Harvard University, and Matt Saunders, Harris K. Weston Associate Professor of the Humanities in the department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies at Harvard University.
